Help! I forgot my password…

No problem. You can create a new password by going to My Account or selecting your Barn Image, and in the Edit section of the Account Menu you can click Update Your Profile and then select a new password. Don’t forget to confirm it.

If you are signed out of the site and don’t remember your password you can follow the Lost Your Password link on the Sign In page and we’ll whisk a new one to your email inbox.

How do I change my password?

How can I access My Account or my Profile page and edit the information?

You can always access your account by either clicking on the My Account link in the upper right menu, or by clicking on your Barn Image displayed at the top left. This will bring up your Profile page. There you can choose to edit any of your profile information, your Barn Image, or upload media.

I don't want people to see my real name. How do I fix that?

Only your User name is visible to others in the Barn. The "Real name" field on your profile while required is never made visible so you needn’t be concerned.

Do I have to create a profile?

A profile is automatically created from the basic information that you’ve submitted when you signed up. Only your user name and locale are visible to others from the required information submitted. Submitting additional information is not mandatory but is helpful in connecting with others and in building the community.

Can I direct people to my own web page?

Sure, there’s a convenient box to enter your own URL as part of the sign up, which is then displayed as part of your profile. If you missed it then, you can add one by going into My Account; you can also select your Barn Image, and click on Update Your Profile in the Edit section of the Account Menu. This will bring up your Contact Info and within you will find a place to enter your own URL.

Can I change my user name?

Sure if you’d like…but it will make it difficult for people to find you unless that’s what you’re after. You’ll find it in your Contact Info. Just go to My Account and select Update Your Profile in the Edit section of the Account Menu. You can update and change your user name and any other information you’d like.

Why is there a black silhouette and the words no image next to my username?

This is your Barn image. You can change the image either by clicking on it to access your Profile page, or by selecting My Account from the top right menu bar. In the Edit area, you’ll find an Update Your Image link. You can then either choose a default image or upload one from your computer or the web. Just remember the maximum (width x height - size) is 120x120 - 30 KB.

How do I change the Image Icon next to my user name?

You can change the image either by clicking on it to access your Profile page, or by selecting My Account from the top right menu bar. In the Edit area, you’ll find an Update Your Image link. You can then either choose a default image or upload one from your computer or the web. Just remember the maximum (width x height - size) is 120x120 - 30 KB.

What is my Barn Image?

This is an image icon that accompanies your user name around the 3D Barn so people can recognize and put a face to your name.

What are favorites?

Favorites are files by other people that you want to save and compile, making them easy to find and download whenever you desire. Any file can be made a favorite and there is no limit to how many you can have. All files you chose as Favorites will be shown when you access Favorites in the left menu.

How can I turn a file into a favorite?

When you select a file from a category or gallery, you open the file’s detail view. As part the detail view, you’ll find actions associated. You can either select the Add to Favorites link or toggle the asterisk (*) button found above the thumbnail image of the file. You can toggle the asterisk to turn the favorite classification of the file on or off. The link at the bottom will change with toggling from Add to Favorites to Remove from Favorites.

Can my own files be part of my favorites?

Yep. Any file that’s part of 3D Barn can be included in your favorites.

How can I remove a file from my favorites?

Open the file in detail view by selecting it. You can either toggle the asterisk (*) in the menu directly above the thumbnail image to turn favored status on or off or you can click on the Remove from Favorites link in the Actions menu at the bottom right of the thumbnail image.

How do I upload files to 3D Barn?

It’s easy to upload your 3D files to the Barn. Simply follow the Upload Files link on the left menu and follow the prompts for the type of content, 3D format and mode, file type, copyright information, descriptions etc. Don’t forget that you need to create a simple 270 pixel wide thumbnail of your file as well for the upload. Once you’ve selected and input the appropriate particulars of your file, just hit the Upload button and presto! You’ll receive notification that your upload was successful and is under review.

How many files can I have on 3D Barn?

As many as you like. There’s no limit whatsoever.

What is the limit on file size for uploads?

The maximum file size you can upload is 200MB. If your file is larger than this size you can contact us through the Help links and we’ll see what can be worked out.

How can I create a Gallery of my work?

Creating a Gallery is simple and straightforward. Just select the My Galleries link in the upper right menu and it will take you to your very own Gallery page. Click on Create a New Gallery and give it a name and determine whether you want it to be Active or not (meaning you are adding to it or will be in the future) and whether it’s a Public Gallery (meaning everyone can see it).
